Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture Landscape Lake Anti-seepage Project
Project location:
Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, China
Project background:
The original anti-seepage system of the scenic lake in the resort area has failed, leading to severe leakage of lake water and affecting the ecological landscape and tourist experience. The project is located in a highland area inhabited by Yi ethnic groups with strict environmental protection requirements. The construction must be zero pollution and zero damage to the surrounding ecological environment. Besides, it must be coordinated with the natural landscape of the resort area.

Project solution:
Zhonglong’s composite geomembrane (HDPE geomembrane + filament non-woven geotextile structure)
Our composite geomembrane is composed of a lower layer of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane (thickness ≥1.5mm) and an upper layer of polyester filament non-woven geotextile. The HDPE geomembrane forms a reliable waterproof layer and the geotextile layer protects the geomembrane material from being damaged by backfill materials and enhances the system's ability to resist deformation.
Project construction:
Zhonglong’s construction team always follows the standardized process in the laying of composite geomembrane:
Step 1: Level the base surface of the construction area, ensuring there are no obvious sand, stones, sharp objects or other debris.
Step 2: According to the construction requirements of the composite geomembrane, lay out the rolls sequentially and reserve the welding parts (check again whether the surface is flat).
Step 3: Clean the welding area, and then weld slowly through the dual-track hot-wedge welding machine.
Step 4: Perform air pressure detection, maintain the unit area stable within the required air pressure range without leakage.
Step 5: During the acceptance phase, ensure that all work is marked with the operator’s name, date and other necessary information, and confirm the overall completion of the construction.
Construction details adapted to local conditions:
- For the landscape lake area, the entire process is free of chemical adhesives, eliminating the risk of water pollution.
- For tourist experience, using hidden anchor treatment—the anchor trench avoids the tourist visible area, filled with natural pebbles and blended with the surrounding landscape.
- For acceptance standards, the water level of the lake should drop ≤1mm within 24 hours, and the water body transparency should maintain NTU≤5.
Project conclusion:
According to the plan, the landscape lake will achieve stable water levels throughout the year with the annual water replenishment reduced by more than 100,000 tons, which will significantly improve the lake ecosystem.
