Zhonglong's "Six-step Solution" for Regulating Pond Leakage
In environmental protection, municipal and water conservancy projects, once a seepage problem occurs in a regulating pond, even a minor leakage, it may cause chain effects on the construction. When facing such emergencies, we generally adopts a mature handling process. It includes leak detection, cleaning, welding, reinforcement and other steps. Based on our practical application experience in multiple projects, Zhonglong Environmental Protection summarizes this "six-step repair method" for reference:
Step 1: Determine the leak point
The first step is to clearly locate the leakage point. After confirming and preparing appropriate materials and equipments, we need to thoroughly polish the leakage area and its surroundings. The purpose is to remove dirt, providing a clean and appropriately rough surface for subsequent welding, ensuring higher welding strength and better adhesion.

Step 2: Hot melt welding
After grinding, we use an extrusion welder to heat the welding rod to a molten state and quickly fill it into the leakage point to form an initial blocking layer. It is important that the welding rod must remain dry during use, otherwise it will seriously affect the welding effect and even lead to blocking failure.

Step 3: Dry the surface and polish it again.
After the sealing is completed, we dry the moisture around the leakage area, ensuring that the operation surface is dry with no residual water stains. Subsequently, polish the surrounding area of the preliminary sealing again. The purpose of this step is to enhance the adhesion and welding firmness of the subsequent film material.

Step 4: Trim the membrane sheet, heat-fusion bonding
Next, we cut a geomembrane sheet slightly larger than the repair area. It must be in appropriate size to ensure more comprehensive coverage. Then, to use hot-air melter to melt on the trimmed geomembrane sheet, making it completely fit and fuse with the original membrane surface that has been polished and makes them a unified waterproof layer.

Step 5: Polish melting edge again
After the film is covered, the edge area needs to be polished again. Through this operation, a smooth and natural transition joint can be polished out, reducing the gaps that may exist between the films to improve the overall waterproofing ability.

Step 6: Edge welding, fixation
The final but the most important step is to use the extrusion welding gun to melt edge along the fusion edge between the new film and the original film. This not only enhances the sealing integrity of the joint but also makes the entire repair structure form a solid, continuous whole.

The entire repair construction process, from locating points, plugging leaks, cleaning, film repair, sanding to sealing edges, every step is rigorous and meticulous, forming a closed loop to prevent secondary leakage to the maximum extent. The reason for summarizing such a systematic and efficient repair process is due to Sichuan Zhonglong Environmental Protection's many years of in-depth work in the field of environmental protection materials and engineering services. With scientific methods and a rigorous attitude, we provide every customer with a replicable and implementable professional solution.
