What Is the Significant Advantages of HDPE Geomembrane in Blown Film Process?

2026-04-01

HDPE geomembrane production mainly uses two processes: blown film and calendering. In terms of performance, the blown film process provides better mechanical strength.

The blown film process includes:

Raw material mixing and stirring — melting and plasticizing — blown expansion into a film bubble — traction and winding — sampling inspection during production — storage after passing inspection.

Material requirements for the blown film process:

High-quality HDPE virgin resins developed for blown film, such as HDPE TR-131 or TR-400 (density 0.938–0.94 g/cm³), ensure production yield and consistent product performance. Ordinary HDPE or PE raw materials cannot meet the GRI-GM13 standard under this process.

Performance indicators of the blown film process:

In the GRI-GM13 standard, "yield elongation" and "break elongation" are two key indicators of blown film products. The standard indicates that yield elongation should exceed 12%, and break elongation should exceed 700%, to meet high-level anti-seepage project requirements.

Compared with unidirectional roller forming in the calendering process, blown expansion forming provides more uniform tensile strength in all directions. Mechanical resistance is more stable and safer under extreme conditions.

Sichuan Zhonglong Environmental Protection follows international standards in raw material selection and production processes. The HDPE geomembrane shows stable quality and applies to various projects.
