Function 1: Active Drainage

Drainage is the core function of siphon drainage board. After the board is laid, a drainage channel is formed between the raised "cups" and other structural base. Subsequently, water is quickly drained through the siphon effect, achieving the purpose of active drainage. The drawback is that each layer of material within the unit area will be subjected to a significant "static water pressure" , which is one of the main reasons for the failure and cracking of the waterproofing layer.

Function 2: Compression Resistance and Protection

The concave-convex cup is similar to the "honeycomb panel" or "arch bridge" design in industry, which can evenly distribute the pressure from the upper layer (such as backfill soil, vehicle loads, crowd activities, etc.) to the entire surface of the board. At the same time, it can also effectively prevent sharp stones, debris and other objects in the backfill soil from piercing or wearing through the underlying waterproofing materials, providing a solid physical protection for the waterproofing system.

Function 3: Moisture Prevention

The space supported by the the concave-convex cups forms an air layer, which can effectively block the upward penetration of underground dampness (into surface buildings) and maintain the indoor space dry.
