How to Install Cement Mat? A Guideline of Cememt Mat Installation
Product Details:
Cement Mat (GCCM) is an innovative product that combines concrete with synthetic fiber technology, featuring high elasticity and strength. It can be shaped according to usage requirements. After being sprayed with water, the cement mat will harden into the desired shape after 2-24 hours.

Application Scopes:
Applicable for laying drainage ditches, agricultural reservoirs, reinforcing slopes, and preventing soil erosion (slope erosion protection).
Usage Suggestions:
When used for laying surfaces, swimming pools, wells and preventing soil erosion (slope erosion protection), the cement mat should be installed on a base material or a solid and stable surface.
For detailed information on the usage steps, follow the principles of the following 4 steps:
1. Adjustment
Adjusting the ground is the first and important step. The ground needs to withstand pressure to ensure the durability of the cement mat. The following points should be noted:
- Adjust the ground shape to form various structures, such as ponds, drainage ditches, etc.
- The slope should not exceed 45 degrees (depending on the soil properties)
- Compact the soil to make it firm and stable (the soil structure must be stable)
- Make the surface flat, which determines the beauty of the finished product.
2. Grooving
- Excavate a trench for laying the cement mat, with the distance from the trench to the backfill layer not less than 50cm. The width of the trench is about 30cm, and the depth is 50cm. Then lay the cement mat and fix it with "U" shaped fixing nails every 1m (as shown in Figure 1)
- The woven layer of the cement mat should be placed at the bottom, contacting with the soil surface.
- The cement mat should be laid tightly in the prepared area and should be laid from top to bottom.
- When laying, the edges of each piece should overlap, and the edges of the cement mat should be folded up. The overlapping part shouldn’t be less than 10 cm.
- Then we mix cement glue, mortar or structure material with water and stir to an appropriate consistency as the adhesive material between the pieces.
- Be careful. Not damage the cement mat.
- In the presence of water flow, the direction of overlap should be consistent with the direction of water flow.

3. Fixing
- Each piece of cement mat should be fixed with nails not less than 5 inches in length*, which should be fixed along the seam every 30cm, with the nails not less than 5 cm away from the edge of the cement mat.
- The fixing of the cement mat to the base material or surface should be done using "U"-shaped fixing nails not less than 30 cm in length*, fixed along the seam every 1m (as shown in Figure 2)
The length of the fixing nails depends on the characteristics of the soil or base material, and engineers should be consulted

4. Watering
- Water the cement mat evenly (not less than 5 liters/m²) .
- High-pressure water jets should not be used in any area.
- To make the finished product stronger, water should be applied once a day for 3 days.
- Acidic or alkaline solutions or wastewater should not be used to water the cement mat.

Warnings and Precautions When Using the Product:
- Do not use the cement mat for structures that directly bear weight, such as roads, bridges, buildings, columns, beams, and slope reinforcement projects, etc.
- Do not use the cement mat as a container for food and beverages.
- Do not use the cement mat for roofs, skylights, gutters, and other structures not specifically designed for this purpose.
- This product is not a food product; do not eat it.
- Using and contacting the cement mat may cause allergies, skin irritation, respiratory system irritation, and eye irritation. Please follow safety regulations to ensure safety—install the cement mat on a solid and stable surface.
- It cannot be used for the place where breeding animals are in, which is sensitive to infection.
