What is Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL)?

Geosynthetic Clay Liner , also called bentonite waterproofing geotextile is a high-performance geosynthetic material, with the core component being natural sodium bentonite. The material is layered between two high-strength geotextiles, formed through needle-punching technology to create a tightly structured, waterproof and breathable layered material.

Compared to traditional waterproofing materials, it places more emphasis on maintaining soil-water balance, not only preventing water seepage but also allowing gases to freely exchange between the materials, hence it is also known as "breathable waterproofing material".
