Composite Geomembran Tips: 1G1M or 2G1M
Definition:
Composite Geomembrane, also known as geomembrane with nonwoven geotextile protection layers, is a type of geosynthetic composite material that combines the advantages of two different geosynthetics. This product integrates the filtration, protection and drainage functions of geotextiles with the impermeability, anti-aging and UV resistance functions of geomembranes, which makes it a more comprehensive material.

Classification:
In general, composite geomembranes are available in two main configurations — 1G1M and 2G1M.

1G1M refers to a geomembrane laminated with geotextile on one side.

(0.5mm Geomembrane + 250g/m² Geotextile)

2G1M refers to a geomembrane laminated with geotextile on both sides.

Differences:

1G1M: The geotextile-covered side should face the backfill layer or the side with more complex geological conditions to provide protection and relieve hydrostatic pressure. It is suitable for buried anti-seepage applications.

2G1M: Applicable to most engineering projects, this type offers greater stability and reliability since both sides are protected by geotextiles. Compared with single geomembranes or 1G1M types, it is more suitable for projects with higher technical specifications and cost budgets.
