China Releases New Regulation for Weather Resistance Testing of Geosynthetics: GB/T 46286-2025

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China, together with the Standardization Administration of China, released the "Determination of Oxidation Induction Time of Geosynthetics by High-Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry" (GB/T 46286-2025). This standard has officially taken effect on May 1, 2026, which provide a new reference paradigm for the quality control system of the export bussiness.

Traditional atmospheric pressure oxidation induction time (OIT) testing often suffers from long durations and poor data reproducibility, making it difficult to meet the demands of modern quality control.

However, GB/T 46286-2025 chooses High-Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry as the standard solution. This method requires the testing environment to high-pressure pure oxygen conditions at 3.4 MPa. Therefore, the extremely high oxygen partial pressure significantly accelerates the oxidation reaction of the material, not only shortening the testing cycle but also eliminating external interference.
