Biaxial Stretch Geogrid is a geosynthetic material primarily used for ground and slope reinforcement. It is typically employed in conjunction with fill materials, such as soil, sand and gravel. By the interaction of the geogrid frame and the filling material, the overall structure is locked and anti-slip.
Why can biaxial stretch geogrid be used to reinforce soil and other filling materials?
Soil possesses compressive strength in the vertical direction and is widely utilized as a fundamental fill layer in road construction due to its low cost. However, under prolonged traffic loads, the subgrade soil tends to experience lateral displacement or spreading, which leads to rutting, subsidence and even complete functional failure.

As shown in the figure, with the presence of a geogrid, the filling material (such as soil) is fixed in all four directions by the grid frame, making it less prone to deformation. Moreover, the pressure from above is transmitted to the entire grid system. It ensures that the force is as evenly distributed as possible within the unit area.
Zhonglong's geogrid features the grid design where each aperture can be filled with soil, forming compartmentalized soil blocks. While the soil may displace under vertical loads, the rigid structure of the geogrid confines deformed soil within its cellular framework, thereby creating a more stable subgrade structure.
