Cement Mat—Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat
Cement Mat Guidelines
-
Step 1: Pre-Construction Preparation
1. Ensure the waterways has a reasonable slope gradient, enabling water to flow from top to bottom.
2. Clear the site, set construction lines, and recalculate drainage slope gradients. This is essential part for fix cement mat on the slope. Then remove humus soil, hard rocks and
unsuitable subsoil.
Reinforce foundation, soil replacement and compaction based on substrates or slopes.3. Follow the drawing, choose either a longitudinal or transverse belt layout pattern of cement mat. At the seams of each piece of cement mat, maintain an 10cm overlap and using
U-shaped staples or stainless steel buckles to fix down. At last, cover the edges with soil.
Step 2: Hydration hardening1. After foundational work acceptance, start clean water irrigation:
2. Use a water volume of approximately 9 kg/m2(as base thickness of 10mm). Pour water evenly
from the edges towards the center at a flow rate of 400ml/min.3. Continue watering until the color of the cement mat turns darker noticeably. Full hardening occurs
in about 24 hours after contacting water.
Precautions:- 1. Do not use high-pressure water jets.
- 2. Avoid stepping on cement mat after watering.
- 3. When temperatures drop below 5°C, insulation measure is must.
- 4. When average temperatures exceed 30°C, cover with geotextile to maintain moisture retention.
- 5. Full hardening has time requirement: within 2 hours after water contact, cutting is still possible.
But after 24 hours, the shape is fixed and stable.
